Intel is ditching the i in the name of its Core series processors. Information about this company confirmed edition of The Verge.

The 14th generation of processors will be called so (depending on performance): Intel, Intel Core and Intel Core Ultra. According to the company’s research, it was the word Core that caused the association with Intel, and not the letter before the number, as was the case with the i3, i5, i7 and i9 processors, and the letter i can be safely discarded.

In addition, such a name will more accurately determine the positioning of the processors. For example, Intel Ultra chips will have better performance than younger models, as well as improved graphics.

Despite the rebranding, the company will leave the numbers to determine the specific processor model from which a generation can be installed. As an example, the company cites the fictitious Intel Core Ultra 9 1090H, where “10” is the generation of the chip, and “H” refers to laptops.
