Exciting New Films Bring Competition to Egyptian Cinema for Summer Season

The summer season for movie screenings is about to begin in Egypt, and it promises a fierce competition among filmmakers. With the end of high school exams and universities, this season is highly anticipated and considered the longest and most popular in Egyptian cinematography.

So far, five films have confirmed their place in the lineup. “Marai Al-Primo” starring Mohamed Heneidy, “A Al-Zero” starring Mohamed Ramadan, “Abu Nasab” starring Mohamed Imam, and “Blomondo” starring Hassan Al-Raddad have all secured their spot. Additionally, “The Yellow Duck” starring Ghada Adel and Mohamed Abdel-Rahman will also be shown.

Hassan Al-Raddad, known for his success in last summer’s film “At Gunpoint,” has joined the race this year with the movie “Blomondo.” The film revolves around a hero working in real estate who suddenly decides to change his life a year after his marriage. Al-Raddad will be joined by several other actors from his previous film, including Mai Omar, Sherine Reda, and Bayoumi Fouad.

Mohamed Heneidy, a beloved Egyptian artist, has also announced his film “Marai Al-Primo.” Heneidy took to his social media accounts to share the movie’s poster and expressed his excitement about the project. The film, written by Ihab Blebel, revolves around the character of a watermelon merchant played by Heneidy and his wife, portrayed by Ghada Adel. The comedic film will mark the third collaboration between Heneidy and Adel.

The producing company “Al-Adl Group” has released a teaser promo for the movie “Al Zero,” starring Mohamed Ramadan and Nelly Karim. In the film, Ramadan plays the character “Hamza,” known as “Dragon,” who works as a DJ. He faces personal struggles due to his child’s illness and the death of his wife. The nurse, played by Nelly Karim, becomes sympathetic to his situation.

Muhammad Imam is also participating in the summer season with his film “Abu Nasab.” Co-starring Yasmine Sabry, the movie explores comedic situations surrounding a doctor dealing with issues of parentage and intermarriage relationships.

Ghada Adel, not only involved in “Marai Al-Primo,” can be seen in another film called “The Yellow Duck.” Starring alongside Mohamed Abdel-Rahman (Tota), Adel plays a university professor who gets involved with the “Yellow Duck Gang.”

Critic Ahmed Saad El-Din expects the summer season to bring great competition for box office revenues. He highlights the star power of Mohamed Ramadan, Mohamed Heneidy, and Muhammad Imam, who have all achieved past success. According to El-Din, comedy will dominate the films during this season, but action will also play a role. The summer season will last for 16 to 20 weeks, and new films, including “The Ruby House,” will join the lineup before the end of summer.]
