Intensified checks for Christmas and New Year: here are the data from the Police Headquarters – News

BOLZANO. During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Bolzano police station has intensified control and prevention activities in the area, as indicated by the public security department of the Ministry of the Interior and as agreed within the Provincial Committee for Order and Security.

The operations involved approx 40 operators per day between state police, carabinieri, financial police and local police, with the support of the crime prevention department. In total, in Bolzano, 172 vehicles and 483 people were checked, 17 public businesses were inspected, the main trains arriving and departing from the railway station were checked, 3 fireworks shops, 2 armories and 17 checkpoints along the main arteries were checked.

The operations were concentrated in the most sensitive areas, including the historic center, the train station area and other urban areas. Specific checks also concerned public establishments reported by citizens for problems of order and safety. Among the results, we note 7 expulsion decrees against non-EU citizens present illegally, with the order to leave Italy within 7 days. Furthermore, 8 compulsory expulsion orders were issued for people with criminal records found without justification in the capital and 6 revocations of residence permits for people no longer in possession of the necessary requirements.

The control activities also led to 5 oral warnings, based on the twelfth of the anti-mafia laws, against criminals caught in suspicious situations. Four people were fined for being drunk and disorderly.
