The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has stated that it has no intention of leaving the Sri Lankan government immediately.

However, party MP Suren Raghavan said he would continue to criticize the Sri Lankan government.

He continued to comment on this,

Tensions between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), which is part of the Sri Lankan government, and the PA are escalating.

In this context, Sports Minister and Prime Minister’s son Namal Rajapaksa has said that the SLFP should leave the government with dignity instead of presenting criticism.

In this situation, there is no split between the UPFA and the PA, said MP Suren Raghavan. He also pointed out that despite differences of opinion between the two parties, there was no possibility of leaving the government.

He also sent a text message to the General Secretary of the PA, Sagara Kariyawasam, last Thursday, reminding him that the UPFA continues to be part of the government.

Suren Raghavan also urged Sagara Kariyawasam to treat the UPFA as an equal and dignified partner party.
