Periyakulam-Periyakulam is going on to spray the blooming mango trees to grow disease-free.

In Tamil Nadu, next to Salem, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri, mango cultivation is done on 12 thousand acres in Periyakulam area. Antelopes are abundant in Periyakulam, Selumbu, Koil Kadu, Kumbakarai, Echamalai, Thonda Katti, Murugalai.

Due to timely monsoon rains in these areas, 90 percent of the mango trees have blossomed.

Intensification of Pesticides: Pesticides are being intensively applied to prevent the spread of pests and diseases on mangoes.

In a few days the flowers multiply into mosses, panicles and then pods.

It is harvested in May, June and July. Farmers said that this year’s mango yield will be a bumper crop as nature is cooperating.
