After being eliminated from the Champions League, the Italian first division football team Inter Milan suffered a rare stumble on the way to its 20th championship. Coach Simone Inzaghi’s team lost points in a 1-1 (1-0) draw against defending champions SSC Napoli for the first time in ten league wins in a row, but retained their comfortable lead in the Serie A table after matchday 29.
With a 14-point lead over second-placed AC Milan, winning the Scudetto seems to be just a formality with nine games left. Inter, who had failed on penalties against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 of the premier class during the week, took the lead through Matteo Darmian (43rd). Juan Jesus (81st) equalized in the final phase.
As seventh in the table, Naples has to worry about taking part in European business.
