The 2025 Women’s Judo Championships commenced August 13th at the Okayama Prefectural General Ground Gymnasium (Zip Arena Okayama), with Tomita Iori, Takeda Momoka, and Shikama Nanami emerging as the first-day winners in their respective weight classes. The competition, running through August 17th, showcases top talent from across Japan, setting the stage for a thrilling tournament.

The 48kg weight class featured 48 entries, with Tomita Iori of Hiroshima Minami High School ultimately claiming the top spot. She defeated Takehara Moena (Shiga, Mt. Inoue Aito (Tokushima, Seigakuen High School) and Ueda Kokoro (Miyazaki, Miyazaki Nihon University High School) shared third place, while Taniguchi Eri, Fujii Ayaha, Shimada Reinoa, and Yamade Aiko rounded out the top five.

  • Suganami Nanami (Fukushima, Iwaki Agricultural High School) and Komi Kana (Kochi, Kochi High School) ended in a No war decision.
  • Fujii Ayaha (Gifu, Minokamo High School) advanced due to a Withdrawal by Kitaguchi Aika (Oita, Yanagigaura High School) at 1 minute and 14 seconds.
  • Matsuyama Kokomi (Kumamoto, Kumamoto Nishitaka) won against Taguchi Hyakumo (Aichi, Meijo University High School) with a Dominant[技あり] throw.
