An Inter still in the initial stages and definitely incomplete in its best players draws 1-1 at the Arena Garibaldi in the derby of the Inzaghi brothers. Filippo plays a bad joke on Simone and risks winning the match after the opening goal scored in the 46th minute by Piccinini. Only a goal from Bisseck in injury time allows the Italian champions to level the score at 1-1. The Inter side is evidently experimental with Barella playing as a playmaker and Zielinski starting from the beginning. It is clearly a preparation match where Pisa also created several goal-scoring opportunities. Inzaghi also had many young players on the pitch such as Fontanarosa, Kamate, and Salcedo. The best chance for Inter in the first half falls to Carlos Augusto who challenges Semper severely, and the ball is deflected for a corner. There are also some timid attempts from Correa and Mkhitaryan before Pisa’s advantage: from a corner, Moreo tries a backheel, the ball hits the post, and Piccinini arrives to send the ball into the net.
In the second half, there are many substitutions from Simone Inzaghi. Inter appears slightly more fluid and, most importantly, more dangerous with Frattesi, who first tries with a shot from outside and then hits the post. Calhanoglu and Arnautovic also come on, marking their first minutes of the season. Inter is not willing to lose, but Pisa also wants a prestigious result even though it’s a friendly match. The match drags on until the last minutes when in injury time, from a free kick by Calhanoglu, Bisseck pounces on a loose ball in the area and wraps up the match at 1-1.
