Despite having held the position only on an interim basis, the lawyer and investigation for alleged corruption Javier Pacheco began a process of dismantling the State Attorney General’s Office (PGE), through the request for resignations in different key positions of the institution. All this without any justification.
According to information known to La República, the interim head of the PGE, Javier Pacheco, called senior officials on Saturday, at the San Isidro headquarters, to present the balance of their efforts. Then, on Monday of this week, he asked for his management reports to be sent to him.
Just at noon that same Monday, the general manager of the PGE, Aida La Rosa, began calling senior officials to inform them of the interim chief’s request for them to present their resignations.
That is to say, what happened on Saturday would have been a pantomime of balance. Javier Pacheco He had already decided to promote the resignations. And he didn’t show his face on Monday. Everything was through the manager.
Van eight renouncing
One of the resignations is Omar Rojas Silva, coordinator of the Senior Officials Unit, an entity that monitors more than 80 tax investigations opened against congressmen and former congressmen, in addition to President Dina Boluarte.
Jorge Pasco Loayza, director of the Functional Control Office, also submitted his resignation. Under this unit is the disciplinary procedure opened a few days ago precisely against Javier Pacheco, for the designation he made of a person identified as a romantic partner in the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Another resignation corresponds to Roxana Paz Cárdenas, head of the Evaluation, Supervision, Control and Inspection Unit; that she is linked to the previous agency, which is continuing the procedure against Javier Pacheco.
