Interim government neglecting public safety: AB Party

On Sunday (September 1), he made this complaint in front of the leaders and activists present when he visited Hasanul Banna Sohel, Member Secretary of Mithapukur Upazila of Rangpur district, who is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. AB Party leaders inquired about Sohail’s treatment.

At that time, the member secretary of the party Mojibur Rahman Manju expressed his anger and said that despite our repeated requests, the Interior Ministry of the interim government has not yet established its own control to protect law and order. Extortion and sporadic terrorist activities are going on in different parts of the country. It is unfortunate that the army was not deployed effectively and the police could not be fully activated in such a delicate situation.

He expressed concern and said that the security threat to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday night has become clear in the incident of vandalism and beating of doctors. In view of this, the country will face a severe medical crisis as doctors call for strike across the country.

He urged the interim government to give utmost importance to the provision of public safety and solving the problems arising by holding talks with the aggrieved doctors immediately. He demanded immediate arrest of those who attacked Sohail and proper compensation to his family.

It is to be noted that some terrorists ambushed Hasanul Banna Sohel, member secretary of AB Party Mithapukur upazila branch at 11:00 pm on August 24 to prevent extortion. They hit him on the head with a sharp chapati. Local people took Sohail to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in a daze. After his condition deteriorated, he was quickly shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Currently, Sohail is under treatment in the neurosurgery department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.
