Following the terrorist attacks in Mannheim, Solingen and Munich, Baden-Württemberg’s Interior Minister Thomas Strobl calls for stricter laws against Islamist propaganda in the t-online podcast.

In the “Tagesanbruch” podcast from t-online, the Interior Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Thomas Strobl, criticizes a loophole in criminal law when dealing with terrorist propaganda on the Internet. “It cannot be that advertising for domestic and foreign terrorist organizations is carried out from German soil 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year,” said the CDU politician. Brains are being “poisoned with this Islamist propaganda from criminal associations and terrorist organizations.”

The potential for perpetrators like those in Solingen and Munich to become radicalized through such content on social media is high. Strobl pointed out that he and his Green coalition partner had already submitted a corresponding initiative to the Bundesrat.

The weekend discussion takes place every Saturday morning in t-online’s “Tagesanbruch” podcast. In it, t-online editor-in-chief Florian Harms and moderator Lisa Raphael discuss current political topics with prominent guests.
