In honor of the 10th anniversary of the inclusion of Kalagai (Azerbaijani national women’s headdress) from Azerbaijan to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage has been announced an international competition of Azerbaijani art kelagai. As Day.Az reports, this was reported to Trend by the chairman of the jury and member of the organizing committee, fashion designer, honored artist Fakhriya Khalafova.
The author of the idea and organizer of the competition is the head of the NGO “Azerbaijani Women of Russia” Khatira Gambarova. Organizational support – NGO “Women Entrepreneurs” Zenfira Agayeva.
The main purpose of the competition is to promote kelagai, one of our national and spiritual values, at the international level, demonstrate how kelagai is used in modern clothing, and pass on the art of kelagai as a cultural heritage to future generations.
The competition is held among Azerbaijani women living in different countries of the world.
Terms of the competition:
– using kelagai, create one or more images, take a photograph (video is also accepted), and send it to the competition;
– when taking photos or videos, the phone should be held horizontally;
– There are no age restrictions in the competition.

Evaluation of works and determination of winners will take place online on the telegram channel of the competition.
The winners will be awarded diplomas and awards.
