In a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Peace (21 September), which this year is themed “Let’s Plant a Culture of Peace”, ICESCO calls for better coordinated efforts to guide, cultivate and promote the culture of peace in order to make societies more resilient and prosperous in the face of growing challenges to peace and security, as well as environmental, economic and social crises affecting a number of countries around the world.
On this occasion, ICESCO recalls its commitment to promoting humanitarian norms and principles during wars and conflicts in order to better protect vulnerable groups such as children, women, the elderly and people with disabilities, and to provide them with all forms of material and moral support.
The Organization also reaffirms its commitment to promoting the values of peace, tolerance and civilizational dialogue through its “Peace 360°” approach, which takes into account all factors related to development to formulate a comprehensive approach to peacebuilding.
This approach is based on the implementation of various programs that mobilize policy makers, inspiring leaders, women and youth from civil society, based on a multidisciplinary approach emphasizing cultural, economic, psychological, social, educational and religious dimensions, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence and modern technologies, the statement continued.
With the aim of building healthy and resilient societies, ICESCO is committed to continuing its efforts in the field of peace and security and renews its willingness to work with all to build strong partnerships in the defense of peace and stability, through synergy and coordination of efforts made in this regard.
