International Documentary Film Festival concludes in Pondicherry – Dinamani

Puducherry Screen Movement, Alliance Francis, Central Film Division, Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Artists Association International Documentary Film Festival, Indian film genius Satyajit Ray centenary celebrations concluded on Sunday.

Nine films directed by Satyajit Ray and a documentary on Satyajit Ray directed by Shyam Benegal were screened at the Pondicherry Alliance Francis Theater in Pondicherry starting on the 17th and lasting for 3 days.

The world famous ‘Badho Panchali’ was screened as the first film. The movie was watched by more than 140 people.

The closing ceremony of the festival was held on Sunday evening. Uma Amarnathan, secretary of the Progressive Writers Artists Association, presided.

Leela, Director, Alliance Francis, and Tamilchelvan, State President, Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers ‘Artists’ Association spoke as special guests. 6 out of the audience shared their experience of movies.
