Military personnel from the Joint Special Operations Command are participating

International exercise “TROJAN FOOTPRINT 2024” with the participation of military personnel from the Joint Special Operations Command /SKSO/ is being held from February to March 15. The exercise is on the territories of Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania and Germany (where the component command of the Special Operations Forces for the exercise is located). On the territory of Bulgaria, about 100 military personnel, military equipment and weapons from the SCSO and about 50 military personnel from the USA and Romania are participating in the exercise, the Ministry of Defense reports.

Today, February 29, an opening ceremony was held at the “Tsrancha” specialized training complex, at which the commander of the 3rd “Special Forces” group, Colonel Todor Dakov, welcomed the Bulgarian and foreign participants and wished them success in completing the tasks.

“TROJAN FOOTPRINT 2024 is a major exercise of Special Operations Forces in Europe,” Colonel Dakov said in his address. According to him, it is focused both on improving the ability of special forces to counter a wide range of threats and on increasing integration with conventional forces and improving the interoperability of Alliance countries. The TROJAN FOOTPRINT enhances military readiness and develops long-lasting relationships that promote peace and stability.

“Last but not least, ‘TROJAN FOOTPRINT’ is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the skills and determination to fight any threat, regardless of where it comes from and when it happens,” he added.
