Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the 89.30m hurdles at the International Athletics Championships in Finland. As well as breaking the national record.
Named Pao Nomi, the game featured a javelin throw match on Tuesday night according to Indian time. In it, Neeraj Chopra clocked 86.92 meters in his first attempt and 89.30 meters in his second attempt.
The next 3 attempts became a ‘file’ and in the last attempt he threw a distance of 85.85 meters. In the end his best effort was 89.30m to finish 2nd. Defending world champion and Granada’s Anderson Beatz (86.60m) won the bronze while Oliva Holland of Finland (89.83m) won the gold.
Earlier, Neeraj Chopra had set a national record of 88.07m last March, but now he has broken his own record of 89.30m. Neeraj Chopra, who won gold in the 87.58m at the Tokyo Olympics in August last year, became the first Indian to win gold at the Olympics.
10 months after that, she has now won a silver medal in the competition.
