New Delhi: ‘Madhyam’ newspaper won two awards in the 5th International Newspaper Design Competition. Madhyam was awarded in two categories in the competition organized by Newspaper Design, Asia’s first newspaper design website.
Madhyam received the Silver Award in the Best Front Page category. The award is for the front page prepared as part of the country’s 75th Independence Day celebrations. Gold is the Indonesian newspaper ‘Kombasi’. Madhyamya also won the bronze award for the best Messi page in newspapers published on the day Argentina became World Cup football champions. In this category, the gold medal went to ‘Mathrubhumi’ newspaper and the silver medal to Brazilian newspaper ‘O Globo’.
‘Desabhimani’ deserves a special mention. Mathrubhumi also won the bronze award for the best Pele page in newspapers published when football legend Pele passed away. Newspapers like ‘South China Morning Post’, ‘Arab News’ and ‘The National’ also came first in various categories.
