International support for the Moroccanness of the Sahara: the irreversible dynamic

by times news cr

In Africa, in the Atlantic area, in the Middle East and beyond, the commitment of the Kingdom, a pole of stability in the region, is welcomed and appreciated. Its contributions and initiatives, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, help to forge innovative and sustainable partnerships to face the challenges of the day, making it a listened to and respected actor on the regional and international scene.

On the Sahara issue, a sacred national cause, the wise and clear-sighted Royal Vision bears fruit every day: the dynamic of international support for the sovereignty of the Kingdom and the Autonomy Initiative is as constant as it is irreversible.

This support from the international community is growing day by day. Denmark, a well-established democracy, has just joined the concert of nations, more than a hundred, to support the autonomy plan that Morocco is proposing in order to put an end to this artificial regional conflict.

In support of autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty, “Denmark considers the Autonomy Plan presented by Morocco in 2007 as a serious and credible contribution and as a good basis for a solution,” indicates the Joint Communiqué adopted at the end of the meeting, held Wednesday in New York, between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and his Danish counterpart, Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

“Denmark considers the Autonomy Plan presented by Morocco in 2007 as a serious and credible contribution to the ongoing UN process and as a good basis for an agreed solution between the parties,” adds the document signed on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

Like many Western countries, including the United States and France, two major powers and influential members of the Security Council, or Spain and Germany and many others, the Scandinavian Kingdom supports the Moroccan initiative as a basis for settlement, within the framework of the United Nations.

This is a clear message to the other parties and to the UN that the political process should move, without further delay, in the direction of this solution, the only one capable of paving the way towards a new perspective of peace and development for the entire region.

This message resonated loud and clear within the UN organization both during the high-level debate of the General Assembly and during the series of meetings of Mr. Bourita with his counterparts from different parts of the world.

In his statement on behalf of the Kingdom at the UN podium, the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, recalled the constants of Morocco’s position as reaffirmed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the UN Secretary-General: no political process is possible outside the framework of the round tables defined by the United Nations, with the full participation of Algeria, nor a solution outside the framework of the Moroccan autonomy initiative, nor a serious political process without the return of armed militias to the ceasefire, as demanded by the members of the Security Council.

A definitive political solution to this dispute inherited from another era, passes exclusively and inevitably, through the autonomy initiative, within the framework of the national sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Morocco, reiterated, in statements to the press, many heads of diplomacy.

In the southern provinces, in the process of becoming a regional and continental hub, Morocco is pursuing a vigorous development strategy, with the active and active participation of local populations, through their democratically elected representatives fully committed to the territorial integrity and Moroccanness of the Sahara. The growing international support for the Moroccan autonomy plan and the sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara, confirms the total fiasco of the disastrous project of the separatist armed militias and the bitter failure of its sponsors.
