The aim of the symposium – which will end on Sunday 22 September – is to inform and connect professionals from all over the world who deal with Veterinary Rehabilitation and related subjects and students who would like to approach this emerging discipline.

There will be 27 speakers, including 13 international speakers, who will delve into topics related to physiatry, orthopedics, neurology and rehabilitation of small and large animals. Four practical workshops will complete the training framework.

“In recent years – explained the organizers – interest in veterinary physiotherapy and rehabilitation has been growing in Italy. The Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Teramo has been fully involved in training regarding this innovative branch of Veterinary Medicine for over ten years. The University of Teramo is currently the only Italian university to have a module on Veterinary Rehabilitation within the degree course in Animal Welfare and Protection and to have activated, for over seven years, a post-graduate Specialization Course in Veterinary Rehabilitation, open to both veterinarians and veterinary technicians, which is proposed and renewed every year with an ever-increasing number of requests for participation”.

Over 200 people registered for the Symposium, including veterinarians, graduate veterinary technicians and students of the degree courses in Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnical Sciences and Animal Production Technologies, who will be awarded training credits.
