Sky has not found a free-to-air television partner for Formula 1. The pay TV broadcaster is therefore initially showing two races free of charge on the Internet.

According to the company, the Grand Prix of Imola (May 21) and Budapest (July 23) can be viewed on “skysport.de” and via the Sky Sport app and YouTube channel.

Sky has been the only provider in Germany to show all Formula 1 races since 2021. RTL had sub-licensed four races in each of the past two years, but decided against a new contract with the pay-TV broadcaster at the beginning of the year. The search for an RTL successor was unsuccessful. According to the contract with Formula 1, four races per season must be free-to-air. (dpa)
