By instituting withholding tax by Uber, Bolt or even Deliveroo for each of the 200,000 freelancers who use their customer connection services. This is one of the key measures of the plan to fight against social fraud announced on Tuesday by the Minister of Public Accounts, Gabriel Attal in an interview with “Parisien”.
Of the 6 to 8 billion social frauds, therefore loss of earnings for the Social Security funds, according to the estimate of the Court of Auditors, the part linked to VTC drivers, home delivery people and other self-employed users of the platforms remains relatively low: the amounts not or under-declared represented 814 million in 2021, or 144 million euros in contributions, indicated in early February the High Council for the Financing of Social Protection (HCFIPS).
