DECRYPTION – The number two in sport in France has just obtained the takeover of Go Sport stores at the helm of the court. A network complementary to its own which allows it to establish itself in the Paris region.
The misfortune of some is the happiness of others. The setbacks of Michel Ohayon, buyer of Camaïeu, Gap or Go Sport, led this last brand to file for bankruptcy. It is Intersport, number two in the sector behind Decathlon, which has just won the bet.
«Following the unanimous opinion of the prosecution, creditors and employees“, the commercial court of Grenoble privileged this Friday the offer of this group composed of independents to that of the British Fraser’s. “Intersport offered the best offer, both for the safeguard of employment and for the acquisition price», justifies the court. The distributor has undertaken to take over 72 Go Sport stores out of 81, corresponding to 1,478 employees, or 90% of Go Sport jobs. Intersport will pay 35 million euros to take over the brand, when its British competitor, wishing to set up in France, only offered 10 million.
