The Brest University Hospital has been experiencing a serious computer failure since Wednesday morning. Consequently, the scheduled interventions have been canceled and postponed, indicates the Regional Health Agency (ARS) in a press release.

“The Brest-Carhaix CHRU has been experiencing a computer failure of technical origin since 7 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning, greatly disrupting its activity”, specified ARS Bretagne, inviting the population to “not go spontaneously” to the hospital center “and to call 15 if necessary”.

The services operate in degraded mode and at noon, the situation did not allow a satisfactory reception of emergency patients, confirmed the hospital with Ouest-France, which revealed the information. The “White plan” was triggered “with reinforcements requested from the laboratory and computer services side”, according to the ARS.

“All hospitalization activities and technical platforms (imaging, biology, block) are suspended except for vital emergencies”. The computer failure would be “of technical origin”, specified the CHRU. It affected telephones, emails and software, in all establishments in Brest (Cavale Blanche, Bohars, Morvan) as well as at the hospital in Carhaix.
