The deputies of the Political Commission defined the dates of the interviews of the candidates: July 25 and 26, after the lists of candidates for magistrates of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal by the FMLN and ARENA.
The term of the current magistrates of the collegiate body will end on July 31, so the 60 parliamentarians of the Legislative Assembly must elect the new members for the period 2024-2029.
“We are going to elect five principals and five substitutes, all of whom will be interviewed by this commission so that we can ask them the respective questions. We need to know what their experience is and the reasons that lead them to want to reach these important positions,” said the president of this State body, Ernesto Castro.
The interviews will last 20 minutes. During this time, the candidates will have to present their professional experience, explain their interest in applying for the position, among other details. On July 25, the FMLN shortlist will be interviewed and the ARENA candidates will be heard a day later.
