Famous dancer and choreographer Geeta Kapoor has been judging reality shows for a long time. She has spent many years on the big and small screen and has also earned the title of ‘Maa’ after many shows. There are many things said about Geeta Kapoor. While discussing these, she has given all the answers. Let us show you.
Famous choreographer Geeta Kapoor has been appearing in reality dance shows for a long time. Now once again she is in the role of a judge in ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 4’. In this connection, we had a special conversation with her, in which she spoke openly about everything from her marriage to her earnings:When you started your career, things were not that technologically advanced. Today is the digital world, in the world of AI, how is technology being used in choreography today?
You use technology to make things look good or even better. How you can enhance things digitally, all this can be done with technology. But dancing is such a thing in which the hand of a Guru is necessary. His place cannot be fulfilled by technology. You can learn by watching someone dance through technology but the dance technique and nuances can only be taught by a Guru. No matter how many things you invent, you need someone who can tell you what is right and what is wrong.
But how tech friendly are you in your personal life?
Not at all. I am very old school. I still use pen and paper for writing. I have all the things in my house. I have not understood Chat GPT till date, but I have also tried to understand it. I believe that no one else can speak what is in your mind, you have to speak it yourself. I think my memory is also because of pen and paper. Even today, if I have to note down something, I have a pen and paper in my hand. I carry a diary with me. I have a phone but its use is also limited to making or receiving calls. Or if I have to upload something on social media, I use the phone. Apart from that, there is no use of AI. I am very antique and old school.
There are many kinds of rumours about people associated with the film industry. What is the rumour in your career so far that has surprised you?
All of us who are associated with the film industry have many rumours about our assets. Like I saw somewhere that someone wrote that I have a car worth so many crores, a bungalow worth so many crores. Then I think where are all these, I should also know. I think where are these cars worth crores, I want to drive them, where are those bungalows worth crores, I want to live there. In which bank are so many crores of rupees, I want to spend it. So these rumours surprise me. The government knows about what we have and we also pay tax on it. Another rumour spreads about me that I am married. I have got married quietly, which I have not done. If I had got married, I would have said with great pride that yes I am married, I have many children. This rumour should just be stopped.
You are once again playing the role of a judge in India’s Best Dancer Season 4. How excited are you about the show this time?
We are always excited for every new show, we will get to see something new. This time Karisma Kapoor will also be there as the third judge in the show, so something new is going to happen. Her way of judging will be different. The children have also brought different types of dance. When you do so much, you have a desire to know whether this season will also get as much love as people liked the last season. So there is definitely excitement.
You keep visiting Delhi. How do you remember Delhi?
It is said that Delhi belongs to the kind-hearted people, this should remain true. Whenever I have come to Delhi, I have always felt that Delhi belongs to the kind-hearted people but these days it has diminished a bit. I want it to remain that Delhi. Delhi has been the most special for me even in the case of Khan. I just want my Delhi to remain prosperous.
