Chennai: Next to Vandalur in Klambakkum, the Kulambakkum Artist Centenary Memorial Bus Stand was completed and became operational last month. In this situation, it has been informed that from today (31st January) all the South District buses which can pass through Chengalpattu and Tindivanam will be operated from Clambakkam area.

As such, the Clambakem Bus Stand is fully operational. Also, for the convenience of passengers, 20 percent of the buses going to southern districts are also operated from Madhavaram bus stand.

In this case, Transport Minister Sivasankar conducted an inspection at Klambakkam bus station today (Jan. 31). He also inquired with the officials about what kind of problems are there after the bus stand was fully operational and provided solutions for the same.

Later speaking to the media, the minister said, “The buses have been plying since 6 am. 80% of the buses plying from Koyambedu bus stand are plying from Kalayandar Centenary bus stand. Remaining 20% ​​of the buses are plying from Madhavaram bus stand.

The people of Thiruvettiyur, RK Nagar, Thiru VK Nagar, Harbaram from North Chennai region can use Madhavaram bus station to go to southern districts. This action has been taken based on their demand that it is difficult to get from North Chennai to Klambakkam area.

160 buses ply from Madhavaram Bus Stand. A total of 710 routes are operated from Clambakkam Bus Station. 118 steps to Trichy, 66 steps to Salem, 30 steps to Vrudhachalam, 50 steps to Kallakurichi, 59 steps to Villupuram, 52 steps to Kumbakonam, 18 steps to Chidambaram, 44 steps to Neyveli, 32 steps to Cuddalore via Puducherry, 35 steps to Puducherry via Dindivanam and Thiruvanna via Senchi. 135 to go to Laich Walks, 30 walks for Polur and 46 walks for Vandavasi will be operated.

People from North Chennai who have used Koyambedu Bus Stand so far should use Madhavaram Bus Stand and those from South Chennai should use Klambakkam Bus Stand.

135 walking platforms have been allotted to State Transport Corporation at Klambach. 110 car parking facilities are also provided. 77 platforms are equipped to operate private omni buses. Parking facilities for 250 omni buses have also been made.

When there was a traffic crisis in Perungalathur area, the road is being widened. Similarly, he informed that any crisis will be investigated and immediate action will be taken.

It is clearly communicated when there are changes in the bus station. The facilities will be arranged based on the needs of the people. The demand of Omni Bus employees has been fulfilled. He informed that whatever facilities are required will be provided immediately.

Initially, when the bus stand was operational from Bari end, it was convenient for the people around it. When it was operated from Koyambedu area, it was convenient for the people around it. On arrival at Clambakkam Bus Stand, it will be convenient for those staying here. It is directed from Madhavaram that similar facility should be available to the people of North Chennai.

The new bus stand being constructed at Mudichur area for omni buses will be completed and operational by the end of March. It will be more convenient for Omni employees while visiting there. Also, consideration is being given to setting up an affordable restaurant at the bus station,” said the minister.
