The movie ‘Kallan’ starring director Karu Palaniappan was directed by famous writer and journalist Chandra Thankaraj. It is said that some caste organizations are intimidating the theater owners by not allowing the thief movie which is released in the theaters today to be screened in the theaters after overcoming various problems.
Following the recent dismissal of a case related to the thief’s film by the High Court, the film crew met with journalists to condemn the action taken by the caste organizations to prevent the screening of the film ‘Kallan’ in defiance of the court order. Speaking on the occasion, the director of the film, Chandra Thankaraj, demanded that the Chief Minister should take stern action to prevent the domination of caste systems in the Periyar soil where good governance is taking place. Also, the Tamil word thief refers to thieves. He clarified that he had put the word thief as the title as there were already pictures with names like thief and thief.
