Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios have delighted fans with a thrilling new trailer for the highly anticipated game, Mortal Kombat 1. This latest preview introduces the downloadable content character Omni-Man, based on the popular Invincible comic book and Prime Video adult animated series.
Gamers can expect to encounter an incredibly powerful and formidable character in Omni-Man, who is voiced by the talented actor J. K. Simmons. Scheduled for release in November 2023, Omni-Man will be the first playable character in the Kombat Pack, offering gamers an exciting addition to their Mortal Kombat 1 experience.
The trailer also provides a sneak peek at another character, Tremor, who will be available as part of the Kombat Pack in November 2023. Tremor is a downloadable content Kameo Fighter, capable of assisting players during intense matches with a range of support moves.
Aside from Omni-Man and Tremor, the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack includes a character skin for Johnny Cage, featuring the voice and likeness of actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme. Additionally, the Kombat Pack will introduce three new playable Mortal Kombat characters, namely Quan Chi (winter 2023/2024), Ermac (spring 2024), and Takeda Takahashi (summer 2024).
Fans will also be thrilled to know that three new playable guest fighters will be joining the Mortal Kombat 1 roster. These characters include Peacemaker, based on DC’s The Suicide Squad film and Peacemaker series on Max (winter 2023/2024), and Homelander, inspired by The Boys television series (spring 2024).
The Kombat Pack not only grants one-week early access to all playable characters but also introduces five new Kameo Fighters, including Tremor. The release dates for the additional Kameo Fighters, Ferra, Janet Cage, Khameleon, and Mavado, are yet to be announced.
For fans eager to get their hands on the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack, it is currently available as part of the Premium Edition for $109.99 (SRP). However, players can also purchase the Kombat Pack separately for $39.99 (SRP). In addition, all playable characters and Kameo Fighters will be available for standalone purchase.
Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release on September 19 for various platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
