Generative AI Users Complain that ChatGPT is “Getting Lazier”
Since the launch of ChatGPT last year, generative AI has seen a surge in investment. However, users of the AI bot are now reporting that it is becoming more difficult to work with, prompting OpenAI to investigate reports that the bot is “getting lazier.”
According to reports, ChatGPT, which has amassed 1.7 billion users in the past year, has been refusing user demands and suggesting that users finish tasks themselves. Some users have even reported receiving sassy responses from the bot.
OpenAI has announced that it is looking into the issue, stating that it has not updated the model since November 11th and that the behavior is not intentional. The company stressed that training chat models is not a clean industrial process and different training runs can produce models with different personalities and writing styles.
ChatGPT has been touted as a revolutionary tool for increasing productivity, but some users are now complaining about the declining quality of responses and the bot’s refusal behavior. Many are calling for a return to the original GPT models and are expressing frustration over the laborious task of getting ChatGPT to respond appropriately to assigned tasks.
