After the bus accident in Venice, the Italian public prosecutor’s office started investigations against several suspects. The investigations are also directed against the managing director of the bus company.
After the serious bus accident in Venice with 21 fatalities, the Italian public prosecutor’s office has initiated an investigation against the bus company’s managing director. Two city officials responsible for the maintenance of bridges and roads are also being investigated, as the local newspaper “Il Gazzettino” reported on Thursday.
Three Germans were also killed in the accident on the way from the lagoon city to a campsite on the mainland. 13 injured people are still in hospital. The fully occupied bus fell from a bridge about ten meters high onto a railway line on October 3rd. There was a large hole in the guardrail at that point.

The investigations are aimed, among others, at the managing director of the bus company La Linea, from whom the campsite operators chartered the vehicle. In the first few days there was speculation that the driver might have suffered a faint attack. The 40-year-old Italian also died. All other fatalities were foreign tourists.
