The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia detained a man suspected of killing a 9-year-old girl who disappeared in the village of Kazar, Oryol Region, on June 18. This was reported by the press service of the department.
“A local resident suspected of committing a crime has been detained by investigators, and the necessary investigative actions and operational measures are being taken against him. The investigation of the criminal case continues, ”the statement reads.
Irina Volk, an official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Russia, said that the detained man was 61 years old. Earlier, he had already been detained on suspicion of committing violent acts of a sexual nature against a minor (part 3 of article 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
In June, a resident of the village of Kazar contacted the police. He said that his 9-year-old daughter left home and never returned. The girl’s corpse was found buried in the basement of one of the houses of the same settlement.
On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated on the murder of a minor (part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated. The UK plans to appoint forensic, medico-forensic and molecular genetic expertise.
