The preliminary cause of the fire in the department of the infectious diseases hospital in the city of Kirov, which killed two people, is the careless handling of fire by one of the patients, according to the website of the regional IC.
“Investigators are carrying out a set of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident, the preliminary cause of the fire, careless handling of fire by one of the dead patients,” it was reported.
The department also added that the fire occurred on the night of October 4-5 and affected one of the hospital wards. As a result, two sick 66-year-old and 82-year-old men died.
As the REN TV channel specified, both patients were in the ward, where they received oxygen. At the same time, the body of one of them was found on the bed, and the second managed to go out into the corridor, where he subsequently lost consciousness and died.
