In the Orenburg region, after the mass death of people from counterfeit alcohol, 14 criminal cases were initiated, said the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Svetlana Petrenko. The total death toll from surrogate alcohol in the region has grown to 34. In total, 64 people have suffered from poisoning.

The investigation detained 15 suspects in the production and distribution of counterfeit goods. During the search, over 1.2 thousand bottles without the necessary marking were seized there.
