Police Region Bergslagen is currently looking for a new investigator to join their team in Sälen. The position requires someone who enjoys varied tasks, has a natural interest in global issues, and wants to work with complex legislation. The police authority is Sweden’s largest authority with approximately 37,000 employees and is organized into seven police regions, a number of national departments, and an office.

The investigator will handle criminal investigations under the guidance of preliminary investigation managers from the Police Agency or the Prosecutor’s Office. The cases that are investigated can be of a shorter nature or extensive and complex, requiring extensive information material to evaluate, see connections, and draw conclusions from. The duties also include handling detainees and other means of coercion, as well as participating in operational efforts against workplace crime. The position also involves working with internal immigration control and border control tasks at the external border, and training in field studies at a major airport for 16 weeks.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a police degree or academic education in law, criminology, behavioral science, or other equivalent education, along with the ability to express themselves orally and in writing in both Swedish and English. A Swedish B driver’s license for a manually-geared vehicle is also required, and at least 2 years of experience in financial investigation or relevant areas is advantageous.

The position offers permanent employment with a trial period of six months or a time-limited employment, with working hours being during the daytime with flexibility.
