In this context, anti-corruption officials have been conducting raids on houses and places related to Thangamani as the 5th AIADMK ex-minister since this morning. Anti-corruption police are conducting raids at 69 places related to Thangamani, including Namakkal, Erode and Chennai. In Chennai alone, the test is being conducted at 14 gold-related locations. The test is being conducted not only in Chennai but also in Vellore, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Tiruppur and Coimbatore. Gold is being tested at one location in Karnataka and at two locations in Andhra Pradesh.
The house of some of the relatives of former minister Thangamani is also being searched. Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Police have registered a case against Thangamani. The Namakkal Anti-Corruption Department has registered a case against Thangamani’s son Taranitharan and his wife Shanthi.
