Investment in housing: the slowdown that is already noticeable and the one that has yet to arrive

Since the third quarter of this year, the slowdown in investment in housing is a clearly perceptible fact that, now, the Bank of Spain warns that it may be prolonged not only in the rest of this year but, at least, during the first half of 2023. Some of the reasons for this investment stoppage would be: the increase in bank credit, the loss of dynamism of new construction visas and increases in the costs of construction materials.
