Iowa Defense Shines in Victory Over Iowa State
In a highly anticipated matchup between two top college football teams, the Iowa defense proved to be the difference maker. The Hawkeyes showcased their defensive prowess as they defeated the Iowa State Cyclones by a score of 27-17.
Leading the way for the Hawkeyes was linebacker Jay Higgins, who had an outstanding performance with 11 solo tackles and a total of 16 tackles. Higgins also managed to defend two passes, preventing the Cyclones from making big plays downfield.

Caleb Bacon and Tyler Onyedim were also key contributors on defense for Iowa State. Bacon recorded three solo tackles, five total tackles, and two sacks, putting pressure on the Hawkeyes’ offense. Onyedim had two solo tackles and seven total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss.
Overall, it was a hard-fought battle between the two teams, but the Iowa defense ultimately proved to be too much for the Cyclones to handle. The Hawkeyes showcased their strong defensive abilities and demonstrated why they are considered one of the top teams in the country.
