iPhone 15 Pro to bring the bottom camera with Face ID

by time news

Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 14 Pro series very soon. The new lineup will bring significant changes compared to the iPhone 13 which had the same design language as its predecessor. In fact, the new iPhone 14 series will bring the most significant changes since the iPhone X in 2017. The iPhone 13 has a smaller notch, but the iPhone 14 Pro will abandon it for a double-hole design. Years later, Apple will get into the hole punch. The company will bring a completely innovative central double hole to the existing industry. However, recent reports indicate that the company’s main plan is to move to under-screen camera technology. According to a new report, the iPhone 15 Pro will be its first model.

iPhone 15 Pro with UD Camera – Seriously?

Honestly, we suggest you digest this with a pinch or two of salt. After all, it’s hard to believe that Apple will bring so many innovations in such a short period of time. The company has been very reluctant to change the basic iPhone design. No camera will be brought under the screen unless you are 100 percent sure that it will work like a traditional camera. Of course, the entire industry is ahead in this regard. And the ultimate goal of the smartphone giants is to completely get rid of the traditional selfie camera for a solution that can have amazing quality even under the plate.

According to a report by South Korean news outlet TheElec (via GSMArena), Samsung Display and OTI Lumionics are developing a new generation of UD cameras. It will debut on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 next year and will later make its way to Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models in fall 2023.

It is reported that Samsung Display has partnered with OTI Lumionics which has developed a new generation of organic cathodic decorative material. This allows opening “microscopic transparent windows in the cathode and OLED pixel layers”. This, in turn, makes the screen completely transparent. This could allow Apple to install advanced Face ID sensors at the bottom of the screen. The infrared sensor will work as normal when the screen is unlocked. It leaves the screen clean and stutter-free for display enthusiasts to enjoy.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Galaxy Z Fold5 equipped with an advanced camera under the display. In fact, even the Galaxy Z Fold3 has already brought an under-display camera. So it’s only natural to expect Samsung to continue improving the technology for future devices. However, Apple always plays a safe game when it comes to new technologies. The company will only use new technology once it has been fully tested and approved.
