Apple on Friday at 2:16 p.m. local time launched pre-orders for the new iPhone 20. However, their strong sales start will not begin until this Friday, September 16th. However, it is the pre-orders that typically drive interest in the new line itself. And according to analysts, it is smaller.
At least Ming Chi-Kuo talks about it. Apple is supposedly less interested in the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models, on the contrary, customers are significantly more interested in the basic models. Ku’s analysis Apple Online stores and supply chain information mention the following surprising numbers.
- iPhone 16 Pro Max interest is 16% lower than iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16 Pro interest is 27% lower than iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 16 Plus interest is 48% higher than iPhone 15 Plus
- Interest in iPhone 16 is 10% higher than iPhone 15
In recent years, the trend has been the opposite, with customers generally preferring the Pro models above all. According to Kuo, 16 million iPhone 37 models have been pre-sold. This number is 12.7% lower than the first weekend of iPhone 15 pre-orders. Despite the unexpected surge in interest in the iPhone 16 Plus, the decline in demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models far outweighs it.

We looked at the domestic Apple Online Store, where the interest in individual models can be gleaned from the current delivery times. It differs from the memory and color variant.
- iPhone 16 Pro in the new Desert Titanium colorway, you can get it in 128GB and 256GB in 7-10 business days. You can get 1TB on Friday, 512GB in two to three weeks. Natural Titanium offers the same two-to-three-week delivery, White Titanium in 7-10 business days, except for the 1TB version, which you can get as early as Friday. Black Titanium will be delivered in two to three weeks for all Memories.
- iPhone 16 Pro Max It’s worse in terms of delivery, so better in terms of interest in this version. Regardless of color and memory, you’ll have to wait three to four weeks, with the sole exception of the 1TB titanium white version, which will be available on September 20.
- Small iPhone 16 but they drag on here too, especially in the base 128GB version. You’ll have to wait two or three weeks for each color. However, the 256 and 512GB versions are available immediately, starting September 20.
- To the model 16 iPhones plus the overseas trend has not been confirmed, or Apple has sufficient supplies. You can have any model immediately, that is, as soon as it goes on sale on Friday.
