Switching from an iPhone to an android phone is remarkably straightforward these days, with most of your digital life – photos, messages, and more – transferable.This guide details how to make that move.

Before you initiate any transfer, it’s crucial to back up your iPhone.This ensures you won’t lose any vital data. You should back up your iPhone to iCloud. Consider also backing up to Google One for a more complete transfer, especially if you’re moving to an android device.
Remember to back up specific app data, such as WhatsApp conversations. Also, check the transfer process for any authenticator apps you use to maintain secure access to your accounts.
If you’re getting a Pixel phone directly from Google, you can even sync photos, videos, and passwords to your Google account beforehand for a smoother transition.
Preparing to Switch

How to Transfer Data Using a Cable
The most efficient method for transferring data is via a cable. The exact steps may vary by Android manufacturer. For a Google Pixel, the process typically involves:
- Power on your new Pixel and select your language and region.
- On the setup screen, choose to set up from another device and select “iPhone or iPad.”
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network. A software update may be prompted.
- Sign in to your Google account.
- Insert your SIM card or set up your eSIM.
- Configure your PIN and fingerprint unlock.
- When prompted to copy data, tap “Next.”
- Connect your iPhone to your pixel using a Lightning to USB-C cable, or a USB-C to USB-C cable for iPhone 15 models and newer.
- Enter your iPhone’s PIN to trust the connected Pixel.
- Select the data you wish to transfer and tap “Copy.”
- The device will list compatible apps. Note that some in-app purchases and settings may not transfer, and premium apps might need to be repurchased.
- Once the copy is complete, disconnect your iPhone and finish the remaining setup steps for your new Pixel.
