In the ninth over, Abhishek Sharma caught Sai Sudarshan for a six off Rashid Khan. The pair split after adding 64 runs for the first wicket.

Rahul Tripathi, who came to the crease later, moved the scoreboard with Williamson. Tripathi retired with 17 off 11 balls. Williamson returned to the crease, but Nicholas Pooran and Aidan Markraw (12 * off 8 balls) put Hyderabad ahead with ease.

For Gujarat, captains Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan took one wicket each.
