With only 8 teams in the IPL so far, 2 more teams will be added and 10 teams will play in the 15th season next year. Lucknow and Ahmedabad teams join hands.

So there will be 10 teams playing in the IPL from next season. So the auction for next season is going to be a mega auction. Lucknow team was bought by RP Sanjeev Goenka Group for Rs 7,090 crore. Ahmedabad team was acquired by CVC Capital Partners for Rs 5,625 crore.

As the auction for next season is going to be a mega auction, each team has to retain the players they need (maximum 4 players) and release the other players. The date for the mega auction for the 15th season of IPL has not been announced yet.

2 new teams can buy 3 players each before the auction. As such, the two teams, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, are netting for some great players.

The Lucknow team has hired former Zimbabwe captain and legendary cricketer Andy Flower as head coach following reports that the Lucknow team is in the process of buying KL Rahul for Rs 20 crore and appointing him as captain.

Andy Flower, who played international cricket for Zimbabwe from 1992 to 2003, also captained the team. Andy Flower, who has played in 63 international Tests and 213 ODIs, is also a good coach.

Andy Flower is the coach of the England team that won the 2010 T20 World Cup. He also coached the Saint Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League.
