The mega auction for the 15th season of IPL is over. The champion Mumbai Indians, as usual, have been relaxed in the bidding and have knocked out the quality players they need.
The Mumbai Indians retained Rohit, Bumra, Suryakumar Yadav and Pollard for Rs 15.25 crore, despite Ishan Kishan’s commitment to the bid.
The Mumbai team has also bid for Joffre Archer, with Bumra already the best fast bowler of the time. The team also included South African Under-19 star player Divald Previs, also known as Baby AB, and Indian Under-19 player Tilak Verma.
The team also included spinners Murugan Ashwin and Mayank Markande, who has already played for Mumbai, and foreign players Timer Mills, Riley Meredith and Fabian Allen. Domestic cricket legend left-arm fast bowler Jaidev was also picked.
The Mumbai Indians, the champions with the strongest core setup of all time, have a strong team combination this time around. Let’s look at that team’s proposed playing eleven.
Captain Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper Ishant Kishan will both make their debuts. Suryakumar Yadav will play in the 3rd row and Divald Previs, also known as Baby AB in the 4th row. Indian Under-19 Tilak Verma and Singapore’s Tim David are likely to feature in the 5th and 6th row respectively.
All-rounder and Mumbai team star Pollard said the batting order will change depending on the context of the match. The spinners will be Murugan Ashwin and Mayank Markande, while the fast bowlers will be Riley Meredith, Jaidev Unadkat and Bumra. This combination will change if Archer joins the team.
