Chennai Super Kings, led by defending champions MS Dhoni, will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match starting on March 26. The BCCI has also announced that all IPL matches will be played in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad instead of the usual 7-8 cities.

Successful Mumbai Indians:
This time the 10 matches will be played in 10 teams instead of the usual 60 format format with 10 teams divided into 2 divisions of Group A and B with 5 teams each. These categories are divided based on how many times a team has won the championship before and how many times it has played in the final.
