IPL 2022 RR vs PBKS- Punjab beats Rajasthan- Marginalized Jaiswal Man of the Match, Headmire Finishing Touch!

by time news
The Rajasthan Royals recorded their first chase win of the season. Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first in the 52nd match of the IPL 2022 series at Wankhede today.

With this win, Rajasthan Royals team is at the 3rd position in the points table with a healthy net run rate of 0.326. Yashaswi Jaiswal smashed 68 off 41 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes in retaliation for the Rajasthan Royals’ unjustified dismissal of Yashaswi Jaiswal for proving Panipuri by giving undue prominence to the Goddess Stairs.

Jazz Butler showed his work as soon as the target was 190. Sandeep Sharma bowled the first over and Jaiswal punched the 3rd ball for a point four and the next ball was bowled by Sandeep Sharma for a six. Jaiswal then hit a four off the last ball to start the chase with 190 off 14 runs.

In the next over, Rabada Butler hit 1 four. Butler hit Sandeep Sharma with a four off mid-off in the next over. Butler came to his form in the 4th over, the biggest six on Rabada’s square leg. A four on the cover, then on a bull shot. 4. Next Yorker bounces a long-range ball in the mid-off.

Jaiswal, along with Butler gave a terrific start with 46 runs in 4 overs for the first wicket. Sanju Samson came down, all Test class shots with 4 fours and 23 runs off 12 balls before Vlasi Rishi Dhawan flagged the ball and was caught. But the score came to 85 in 8.1 overs.

I do not understand what happened to the goddess stepping stone. No runs were scored and no fours were scored as Jaiswal was at the other end, putting the partnership at 57 for 141 in 14.2 overs with Jaiswal at the other end, but then Jaiswal was caught by Arshdeep Singh for 68 off the ball.

He picked up the stairs. With 31 off 32 balls with 3 fours, Rajasthan would have come close to losing if there was no headmire at the opposite end. Hedmeyer hit 31 off 16 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes before being dismissed for 31 not out, but Hedmeyer kept Rajasthan at bay to secure the victory.

Earlier in the day, Agarwal won the toss and elected to bat first.

But Burstow smashed 56 off 40 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. Shikhar Dhawan was vacated by Aswin, but Panuka Rajapaksa stepped down and was whitewashed. Kuldeep Chennai hit six big six. He hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in 27 off 18 balls, but Sehl lost his leg stump in an attempt to come down and hit the ball. Sehgal, who beat Barstow, Panuka Rajapaksa and skipper Mayang Agarwal, took 28 for 3 in 4 overs, still taking 20 wickets in the IPL and equaling Malinga’s record of 20 wickets in 4 IPL series.

Ashwin gave up only 10 runs in the first 2 overs and finished with 32 runs in the last 2 overs for 22 runs. In the end, Jitesh Sharma hit 38 off 18 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, while Liam Livingston hit 22 off 14 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes to make it 189/5 for Punjab. Punjab could not reach 200 as Sehal was disabled in the first 2 overs by Aswin.

But the target was chased by Rajasthan without tension and won. Man of the match Yashaswi Jaiswal.
