Harbhajan Singh blames pacer Deepak Chahar’s absence for Chennai’s setback

Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings, the reigning champions, got off to a bad start in the 15th season of the IPL (IPL 2022). The team led by Ravindra Jadeja was destined to lose all three matches played. According to Chennai veteran Harbhajan Singh, there are two main reasons behind CSK’s defeat.
Harbhajan Singh has blamed the absence of pacer Deepak Chahar for Chennai’s setbacks.
‘There are two main reasons for the Chennai Super Kings. There is no bowler like Deepak Chahar who can take the opening wicket in the first six overs. No spinners in the 7-15 overs after the powerplay. Ruthuraj Gaikwad gets out quickly. So there is no strong opening alliance. That is why Chennai lost all three matches. I will not be surprised if Chennai returns with victories, ”Harbhajan told Star Sports.
Deepak Chahar, who bought Chennai for Rs 14 crore in a mega star auction, has yet to play this season. He was training at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. In 2018, Deepak Chahar became part of Chennai for the first time. He has won two titles with CSKA in four years. He took 58 wickets for Chennai. He has taken 32 wickets in the last three seasons. The setback was that it was not clear when Chahar could play and therefore could not find a suitable replacement.
Chennai Super Kings will play in the IPL today. The Chennai Super Kings-Sunrisers Hyderabad match will be played at 3.30 pm at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Both the teams are aiming for their first win. Chennai lost the first three matches and Hyderabad the second. Chennai and Hyderabad are two teams that are facing a crisis in both batting and bowling. Last season’s top scorer Ruturaj Gaikwad is yet to return to form, which is a big headache for Chennai.
