Kolhapur: A surprising incident has come to light in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Here, cheering up the team and players in the IPL match proved costly for one person. This fan was beaten so much by the fans of the other team that the person died. The incident happened during the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians match on Wednesday. The victim celebrated the fall of Rohit Sharma’s wicket, after which Rohit Sharma’s fans got enraged and beat him badly. Bandopant Tibile (63) was beaten repeatedly with a wooden block by Balwant Jhange (50) and nephew Sagar. According to the police, the duo were initially arrested on charges of attempt to murder and have now been booked for murder under section 302 of the IPC.

A heated debate broke out over who would win the IPL match in Hanmantwadi village of Karveer tehsil of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Bandopant Tibile was beaten by two men after they had a heated argument over who would win the IPL match between local favorites Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 27.

Police said that Bandopant Tibile and Balwant Jhanjge of Hanmantwadi in Karveer tehsil of Kolhapur district were neighbours. The victim and the accused had gathered in front of the house to watch the IPL match on the TV installed by their neighbours. The situation remained peaceful for some time, but things heated up when fans of both the teams started fighting over every small moment of the match. When Rohit’s wicket fell, a scuffle broke out between the two.
This is how the matter escalated
Things soon went out of control when Balwant Jhanjhe grabbed Bandopant’s son Vijay by the neck and started beating him. After this, Balwant’s nephew Sagar Jhange came from behind and hit Bandopant Tibile on the head with a wooden stick, due to which he immediately fell on the ground. He was taken to a nearby CPR hospital after his nose started bleeding. Inspector Kishore Shinde of Karveer police station said Tibile died on Saturday evening.
