Bangalore: English all-rounder Liam Livingstone on the second day of the IPL Auction 2022. The Punjab Kings have brought in Rs 11.50 crore worth of fireworks.

Kolkata Knight Riders have acquired Indian senior batsman Ajinkya Rahane for Rs 1 crore. However, David Malone, Owen Morgan, Marnus Labushein, Aaron Finch, Saurabh Tiwary and Cheteshwar Pujara were not available for purchase in the first phase. The star auction is in progress.

In the anxious Sreesanth

The auction of 503 players is taking place today. All players from 98 to 161 in the auction list will be put up for auction. Of the remaining 439 players, only those requested by the franchise will be put up for auction. The franchise has been asked to write down the names of the required 20 players. The big question today is whether Malayalee player S Sreesanth will return to the IPL.

Ishaan is the star so far

The first day of the auction saw the Mumbai Indians retain young Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishant Kishan for a hefty sum. The Mumbai Indians retained Ishaan for the highest bid of Rs 15.25 crore this time. Sunrisers Hyderabad challenged till the end but Mumbai remained firm.
