KKR has bid Rs 12.25 crore for Shreyas Iyer, a qualified player to lead the IPL team.

The mega auction for the 15th season of the IPL starts in Bangalore today at 12 noon and is in full swing.
Shikhar Dhawan, the first player to be auctioned off, was picked by the Punjab Kings for Rs 8.25 crore. Ashwin was picked by the Rajasthan team for Rs 5 crore. Kagiso Rabada was picked by the Punjab Kings for Rs 9.25 crore and New Zealand fast bowler Trent Bolt by Rajasthan for Rs 8 crore.
Shreyas Iyer, former captain of the Delhi Capitals team, has been put up for auction. The KKR team, which was forced to appoint a new captain, showed interest in Shreyas. The Delhi team, which did not retain Shreyas Iyer as one of the four players, was keen to bid.
The Delhi team withdrew with Rs 9 crore, followed by a match between Shreyas Iyer between KKR and Gujarat Titans. In the end, the KKR team picked Shreyas Iyer for Rs 12.25 crore. The KKR team, which already has players like Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty and Sunil Narine, will no doubt appoint Shreyas Iyer as their captain.
