IPL Auction | Devdutt Padikkal at Rajasthan Royals; No one to buy Raina and Smith

by time news
Rajasthan Royals have acquired Malayalee player Devdutt Padikkal for a gold ban in the IPL Mega Auction. The Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, bought Padikkal for Rs 7.25 crore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings bid for Padikkal in the first round. With the value of Padikkal exceeding Rs 4 crore, Rajasthan Royals also came on the scene for the Malayalee star. With over Rs 5 crore, the Mumbai Indians also tried to acquire Padikkal at a hefty auction.

Mumbai called up Rs 7 crore but the Rajasthan team bought Padikkal for Rs 7.25 crore. Apart from Padikkal, West Indies’ Shimron Hetmeyer has been added to the Rajasthan squad for Rs 8.25 crore.

No one to buy Suresh Raina and Smith

The franchise is not ready to acquire Suresh Raina and Steve Smith. No franchise, including his former team Chennai Super Kings, has come forward for Raina’s base price of Rs 2 crore.

Teams are also reluctant to bid for Australian Steve Smith. Smith, who played for Delhi last season, has not been able to excel in any of the opportunities he has been given. Teams did not come to the star auction for David Miller either.
